Review

In “The Rise of Atlantis” you’ll be embarking in an adventurous voyage around the ancient lands of the Mediterranean, to gather the seven powers that will help you rise the Atlantis. The game will take you to different countries to assemble magic artifacs, piece by piece.
Once you assemble an artifact, it gives you total control over a special power. When you have all seven powers, you’ll have to place them on the Poseidon’s altar, and the Atlantis will be raised.
The game provides a board of titles with different icons on them. The objective of the game is to create matches of three in a row (or more), by clicking on adjacent tiles to swap them.
When you first enter the game, you’ll see the welcome screen and you’ll be asked for a player name. In addition, the following options are shown:
- Change user: the first time there’s no existing player. After you create one or more, they’ll be saved. When you enter into this submenu, you’ll be asked for a name as a new player. It’s possible to have a list of different players and record their performance. This way, you can play home tournaments with family and friends.
- Start: this option leads you to an introduction, which you can skip at any time. Once the introduction finishes, a map with the countries that you're visiting is displayed and you can start playing at Stage 1.
- Options: this is the menu from which you can set some game options, like sound volume, music volume, full screen mode, and mouse sensitivity.
- Travels: this option leads you to a screen in which you can see the 7 travels (one travel per special power).
- Help: it leads you to the cards-style help.
- Exit: no further explanation required.
- Screensaver: this option installs a theme screensaver on your system.
When you’re playing the game, you can always click on the Pause/Menu button to access to a pop-up menu with these options:
- Exit: it leads you back to the main menu.
- Options: the same options menu commented before.
- Resume: you go back to the game.
- Help: it leads you to the cards-style help.
You can try this game for 60 minutes before you buy the licensed version. If you like it, you can buy this game for only 19.95 dollars, right from the Oberon Media Game Center, on the Web.
